At the meeting current developments at our faculty are discussed. Furthermore, news of the committees are spread, events are planed and different other topics debated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meetings are open to the public usually. Every interested guest may visit us and is warmly invited to attend the meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The preliminary agenda is distributed via e-mail in advance. all first-year students who would like to run for the FSR are warmly invited to come along.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>veta: The \u201cveta light\u201d (Conference of Transport Student Councils) took place in Erfurt at the weekend; discussion about an AI clause in the statutory declaration for final theses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Student Council (StuRa) has met several times over the past few weeks, dealing among other things with budget cuts for universities, the election procedure at TU Dresden, and the StuRa&#8217;s work in the Conference of Saxon Student Bodies (KSS) and the free association of student bodies (fzs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funding request (FA): Orientation Year meet-up in October 2026\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A networking meet-up for the Orientation Year is to take place on 20 Oct 2026; money is needed to buy snacks. All new Orientation Year students are warmly invited!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Departments\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Games night: The next one is planned for 24 Nov \u2013 any support is very welcome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Newsletter: A new newsletter was sent out today; feel free to get in touch with feedback and suggestions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PR: Our Insta now has over 1,000 followers!! \u2013 thanks above all to a post about the Carola Bridge with over 100k views.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ESE (orientation week): The first-year students present at the meeting gave consistently positive feedback and a few suggestions \u2013 feel free to come to us if you have anything else.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4. Reports from the spokespersons and the treasurer\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Treasurer: The cash boxes have been audited and counted, and the FSR&#8217;s quarterly financial report has been submitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spokespersons: There was a jour fixe with the Dean&#8217;s Office last Friday; topics included the unlawful restriction of participation in courses and compliance with other formalities. Appointment committees for filling several professorships at our faculty are to be set up again soon. The most important point here is that, at the halfway point of the Deans&#8217; term of office, there will be a handover between Prof. Gerike and Prof. Okhrin. This is currently being prepared.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Departments\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ESE: Freshers&#8217; Week has started; the only change to the programme was moving the barbecue evening to Tuesday lunchtime.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orientation Year: As FSR Verkehr, we are responsible for the orientation-year students, so a campus rally was organised for their ESE. Cooperation with the other FSRs went very well, but communication with the office responsible on the university&#8217;s side proved difficult. The concept we students had developed was heavily altered without any prior consultation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports from the Spokespersons and the Treasurer\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Treasurer: An inventory of the FSR&#8217;s property was carried out during the semester break.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spokespersons: A programme coordinator is currently being sought for the new Master&#8217;s programme Mobility Systems. Details are still being planned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ESE (orientation week) for the winter semester was also discussed, including planning for the student club tour, joint activities, and the ESE for incoming\/orientation students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security-relevant research also remains a topic here; some are considering further actions, and once things become more concrete, further information will follow on Instagram, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable FSR Finances\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The FSR Verkehr (Transportation) has had higher expenses than income every year, and will therefore have to either increase income or reduce expenses in the long run, since the reserves from the Covid years are now used up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The FSR&#8217;s range of offerings should be restricted as little as possible, since it is important for many students and for the FSR&#8217;s connection to students; if cuts are needed, it&#8217;s better to trim individual events rather than cancel them outright.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instead, it should be examined to what extent we can obtain sponsorships.
