Externe Veranstaltung „Bridging Communities Through 15-Minute Cities: A Holistic Approach to Urban Sustainability and Mobility Co-Design“POT/161
Adoption of innovative mobility services, such as 15-minute cities (15mC), that are both
environmentally (sustainability) and human (livability) friendly, is a key planning objective of
pioneering cities in Europe and internationally. However, wider adoption of such services still
faces enormous challenges, partly due to a lack of clear, comprehensive yet easily
accessible evidence to support decision-making and the co-creation of innovative ideas and
effective policies beyond the limits of experience. Therefore, we cordially invite local
stakeholders, researchers, and citizens to co-design against everyday mobility challenges
within the city of Dresden, towards active mobility adoption. The workshop aims to gather
opinions, preferences, and concerns to establish a better understanding of the 15mC urban
policy design and evaluation.
Being part of the DAAD-funded research project “Bridging Communities Through 15-Minute
Cities: A Holistic Approach to Urban Sustainability and Mobility Co-Design in Greece and
Germany” and DUT-funded research project PERSEUS in collaboration between Dresden
University of Technology and the University of Aegean, the workshop findings will help
address 15mC adoption challenges in diverse urban environments and distinguish the urban
and social differences between the two case studies of Chios (Greece) and Dresden
(Germany). It will also help identify the promising intervention scenarios for Dresden through
stakeholder feedback and design a common Stated Preference survey and mobility choice
models for the future 15mC framework for both cities.
