Equal commissioners’ poll to the International Women’s Day

Our faculties Equal Commissioners ask for Feedback on the International Women’s Day through their poll. They write:

Dear members of our “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences,
dear colleagues,
dear students,

Do we still need an (Inter-national) Women’s Day? This question is on our minds on the occasion of March 8th – International Women’s Day. We can quickly think of a number of pros and cons,

for example

  • For greater visibility of women’s contributions
  • To draw attention to inequalities in everyday life
  • To address women’s rights in a global comparison

against

  • And other marginalized groups?
  • This symbolism does not bring about change.
  • Equality is indeed achieved in the law!

Read more arguments and

share your (critical) feedback with us

in an anonymous survey by April 10, 2024!

We will analyze the responses anonymously and publish them in an appropriately prepared form within the faculty. We are asking ourselves what perspectives exist at our faculty regarding this topic. Please help us learn more about the current relevance of gender equality aspects in our faculty, so that we can develop targeted offerings and provide information based on this. This time, we will focus on the specific example of International Women’s Day.

Sincerely,
yours Equal Opportunities Officers of the “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences,

Participation at Appointment Comittee

The FSR is looking for members for a appointment committee with the topic Transportation and Spatial Economics. When working on these committees, new professors are sought for the faculty. A mandate is a good opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of the faculty. It is possible to give your opinion on future professors (and their teaching).

There are 2 Main Representatives and 1 Deputy Represantative. Registration is possible in this OPAL course until 12.03.2025 18:00. Female students are particularly welcome to apply.

For further information, please contact our Faculty Council representatives at studierende.fkr_vw@tu-dresden.de. We look forward to your participation.
