Most freshers-week events will take place arround Gerhart-Potthoff-Bau the probably most important building in your studies as well as central building of our faculty. The map shows you were you can find us.

Meet & Eat

Start: POT-Lawn

It’s the first time where you will meet your fellow students. You will as well get to know to a place, you will be often at your studies: The cantine. We will go there in groups. And you may decide for which cantine to go, so let’s look what there will be to eat.

Get to know your new colleagues by playing various group games. Because studying together is easier and much more fun.

Get to know Dresden on a relaxed city rally through Dresden’s old town. Solve tasks with your team and make your first contact with our student associations.

Now it’s getting serious: the dean and the deans of studies will welcome you to our faculty and give you their advice.

Bike Tour

How to discover the City better, than by bike? Do it and meanwhile talk to your fellow students. So take your bike and join us!

You haven’t got a bike? No problem. Just come to the POT-Lawn.

Today our Universities Rector wants to adress herself to you, after our faculties Dean talked to you yet. You can join the ceremony live in the universities biggest lecture hall (limited CapaCity), in YouTube livestream or with us at our small Public Viewing.

In small groups, we explore Neustadt – Dresden’s nightlife and party district.

Friday 9th of October

Hiking

The saxon switzerland invites to hike just in front of the city borders of Dresden. We propose several tours, for we you should register on OPAL in the days before. You will also find further information there, such as difficulty of the trip.

If you won an first semester backpack, you can answer on the draw email to pick them up later.

Your highlight from the freshers week. We get our own tram and make our own sightseeingtour.

We meet at 2pm45 in POT-building and the tram is departing at 3pm.

Today we leave you into freedom. From today it’s up to you to know, where to go. Anyway we stay here and have our doors open for any questions. Why don’t you look up our variety of offers?

FSR Meeting for Everyone

You haven’t just got envie about studiing, but also about helping other students, like we do? Every monday evening we have a meeting. This one will be designed for freshers. Unfortunately the meeting will be hold in german language. Anyway it doesen’t need to keep you from action. Our work takes place beside the assemblations.

30th of October – 01st of November

Freshers Hut (Erstihütte)

Do you wonder what This FSR does and what is even happening at this university, just like another lemon tree? So many questions … We have and wayyyyy more for you at the Erstihütte on Halloween weekend. From October 30th to November 1st, we’re heading together to Wasserschloss Oberau. With good food, Halloween vibes, and lots of workshops, we want to kick off the semester together with you.

The registration starts on Wednesday the 01.10. via OPAL.
