As in previous years, we are looking for tutors for this year’s freshers’ orientation (ESE), which will take place from 02.10.2023 to 08.10.2023. In order to give the first-year students the best possible start to their university life at the faculty, we are dependent on your help. Your task as a tutor is to give the first-year students all the important information they need for their start at university, to guide them through the faculty building, to show them the most important places on campus and to explore the city with them.

Especially for the supervision of the English-language Master’s programmes Transportation Economics, Air Transport and Logistics, we are looking for tutors who offer supervision in English. We are also looking forward to foreign students who can take on this task. In the Bachelor’s programme in Transportation Economics as well as in the Master’s programme in Electrical Transportation Systems, we have had very few tutors in the past years, so it would be nice if the first-year students had tutors from the respective programme.

You can easily register via the following OPAL course: https://tud.link/n7lm. You can register individually for each event you want to supervise. Therefore, it is no problem if you do not have time for all ESE events. Only the supervision of a first-year group (including a tour of the faculty, a short explanation of the degree programme, etc.) on Thursday, 05.10.2023 is obligatory, as experience has shown that we need the most tutors there. We would also provide you with a short training session shortly before the ESE. Otherwise, we would be happy if you register for as many other events as possible.

It will soon be that time again: On 21.06.2023, we are organising our faculty’s summer party like last year. From 6 pm onwards, you can chat, celebrate and network with fellow students and faculty members on the POT-Wiese.

Food and drink will be provided. There will be delicious food from the grill, as well as various homemade salads, cakes and other snacks. There will also be cold drinks with and without alcohol (draught beer 2€, draught soda and lemonade 1,50€). Please bring your own plates and cutlery to avoid unnecessary waste (disposable tableware is available for an extra charge).

Our “Listige Vereinigungen” Spätverkehr, Euroavia and Verkehrte Welt will also be represented again with action stalls and offer you an extended range of drinks and games.

Do you feel like getting out of the exam stress, doing nothing for university for a change or just getting to know other people at our faculty? Then come along to our Paddelbootregatta this year. This will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. We will meet at 9:45 am at the main station under the glass dome, then drive to Königstein and paddle from there with rubber boats down the river Elbe (less work) to Obervogelgesang. You can eat during the lunch break in Rathen or then in the beer garden in Obervogelgesang, where we arrive at about 5 pm.
