RepairCafé opens on the TUD campus on 17 May

If the household appliance no longer works or sewing work is needed, a visit to the first RepairCafé on the main campus of TU Dresden on 17 May can help. The self-help workshop will be open that day between 5 and 7:30 p.m. and will help those seeking help to make defective devices – hopefully – functional again under the guidance of tech-savvy volunteers.

The RepairCafé is the kick-off for repair events that will now take place regularly at the SLUB Makerspace in the DrePunct Library (Zellescher Weg 17 in the BZW). Not only the volunteers of the RepairCafé Dresden/Freital initiative as well as many volunteers from the TUD cosmos provide support, but also the SLUB employees with knowledge and equipment from 3D printers to sewing machines. Anyone is welcome who would like to be supported and advised on repairs free of charge.

In addition to repairing, the café character will not be neglected. Coffee and cake are available for refreshment and conversation. It would be nice to register for the RepairCafé so that the Green Office knows what equipment is needed, but spontaneous participants are also welcome. You can register online at: https://tu-dresden.de/tu-dresden/umwelt-und-klima/greenoffice/anmeldung-repaircafe or by calling the TU Dresden Green Office at 0351-463 33037.
