How much should public transport cost? A discussion evening

Finally, it’s that time again. Our second FSR discussion evening in german will take place on Tuesday 5 July at 6:30 pm in POT 13.

This time, the topic is public transport fares. How much should public transport cost? Should it be as cheap as possible, maybe even free? Or does good public transport have its price? Or do you have completely different ideas about how a modern fare system should work?

If you enjoy discussing these issues, then come to the new FSR discussion evening on 5 July at 6:30 pm in POT 13. After a keynote speech, we will discuss these questions together. Nibbles will be provided, drinks can be purchased on site.

Invitation to the summer party

Finally, the time has come again: After a break of two years due to the corona, we are organising a summer party at our faculty again this year. On 29.06.2022 from 6 p.m. we cordially invite you to the POT meadow, where you can network, chat and celebrate with other fellow students and faculty members.

Delicious food from the grill, homemade salads and cakes are provided. You can also enjoy chilled alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices (draught beer from €1.50, non-alcoholic drinks from €1.00). Please bring your own plates and cutlery so that we can avoid unnecessary waste. For an extra charge, you can also buy disposable tableware on site.

Our “Listige Vereinigungen” Spätverkehr, Verkehrte Welt and Euroavia will also be on site that evening with action stalls and offer you an extended range of drinks and games.

We are looking forward to your numerous coming and a nice evening with you!

Our contribution to Sustainability week

From 17 – 28.06. the Sustainability Week will take place with lots of exciting programs around the topic of sustainability. Not only the environment should be the focus of this week, but also social sustainability.

We as FSR Transport and Traffic Sciences are also participating in this sustainability week.

We will present a walkmobile and interesting short information at the sustainability party on Friday (17.06.) and the sustainability breakfast on Monday (20.06.) as well as a bicycle tour on the topic of traffic planning of bicycle infrastructure on Wednesday (22.06.).

At the beginning of the sustainability week, particularly good or bad bike paths in Dresden will be collected during the sustainability breakfast and the sustainability party. We will develop a bike tour from this to visit these places on site. Join us and explore Dresden’s bike infrastructure.
Starting point is at 15:00 at the Mobipunkt in front of the Potthoffbau.

Studying transport and traffic – What else!

Yes, you can study transport and traffic! Studyng transport and traffic at TU Dresden is versatile, exciting and future-oriented. Whether it’s climate protection, sustainability, liveable cities and communities or innovative technologies – you want to help shaping things and not just drive along? Then studying transport and traffic is just the right thing for you!

With these words and the new marketing film shown publicly for the first time on Uni Day 2022, our faculty will be promoting transport sciences at TU-Dresden in the future.

We as FSR-Verkehr are very pleased that we were able to support this great project in cooperation with the dean’s office and hope that the new marketing film is a building block to make our faculty more attractive and visible for new students.
