FSR meeting

  1. Administrative Matters
  2. Committees
    • Study Commission VWI/TEC:
      • According to Prof. Okhrin, the removal of compulsory modules or their reduction to online courses is being pursued.
    • Stura:
      • Report from the meeting of the State Speakers’ Council
      • Quarterly reports of the University Policy department
      • New recognition of various student groups: “Kritimed Dresden”, “Turmlabor”, “Dresdner Netzwerk für Studierende in Promotion und Forschung”, “Medinetz Dresden e.V.”, “IAESTE”, “P.E.A.C.H.” and “Kultur Neue Mensa e.V.”
      • Discussion on the re-recognition of the student group “Islamischer Hochschulbund Dresden (IHD)” due to allegations of antisemitism and deferral to the next meeting
      • Restructuring of the Stura’s departments
      • New elections of the Sports Officer (Sven Gappel) and the Managing Director for Teaching and Studies (Gregor Mitzka)
Appointment of new members to various departments
      • Resolution of a position paper “Free Software instead of Microsoft Cloud”, more on this in the FSR meeting summary of 04/05
Discussion on the amendment of the contribution regulations with an increase in the student fee due to financial discrepancies with TU. More specifically, this concerns funds from the possible partial reclaim of the student fee for the €9 ticket (June to August 2022) that were not claimed by students. As the deadline for reclaiming expired on 01/01/26, this money should rightfully go to Stura, but the university has not transferred it so far, which is why the funds that were originally budgeted are not available.
    • Senate:
      • Central topic here as well: the migration from the university’s mail servers to Microsoft servers
    • Networking – Networking meeting of the FSRs on 22/04:
      • Central topic here as well: the third-party funded project by Elbit Systems at our faculty and defence research in general
      • Orientation students: Further development of the offering is an important goal for this year, as they are based at our Faculty of Transport; if you know of any offerings for orientation students, feel free to send them to us (at fsrverkehr@tu-dresden.de)
      • Collaboration with international students – a challenge in many FSRs; we as FSR Verkehr also want to improve this and are currently working on it primarily within the international affairs department
      • The next networking meeting will be hosted by us, FSR Verkehr
  3. Presentation of the results from the meeting with Ms. Scope (Overall Coordinator for the Orientation Year), including current priorities and, if applicable, a presentation of a future plan for the orientation program
    • The handling of orientation students is to be better organised, with the main goal being better integration at events and at the ESE, as well as a separate meeting.
