E-learning gems wanted

Have you enthusiastically attended a course in the last two semesters in which sections were taught using digital teaching/learning tools? The Center for interdisci­plinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) will be collecting your proposals for successful examples of (partially) digital teaching/learning scenarios from the 2022/23 winter semester and the 2023 summer semester until November 12, 2023. After submission, these will be presented in a gallery. All members of TU Dresden can then vote on which three teachers will receive prize money of €2,000 each for their gems.

The ZiLL is looking forward to suggestions for the fourth gem gallery.

Exkursion zum CERN in Genf

Das Institut für Institut für Kern- und Teilchenphysik an der TU Dresden veranstaltet im Februar 2024 eine Exkursion zum CERN in Genf, dem weltweit bedeutendsten Labor für (beschleunigerbasierte) Teilchenphysik. Die Exkursion ist für Studierende aus allen Semestern und Fachrichtungen offen, so lange es noch freie Plätze gibt.

Zeitplan

  • Registrierung ab 25.10.
  • Auswahl und verbindliche Bestätigung bis 01.12.
  • Ueberweisung Eigenanteil bis 20.12. (danach ggf. Vergabe der Restplaetze)
  • Abfahrt 25.2. 7:00 Uhr vor dem Andreas-Schubert-Bau, Ankunft in Genf am Abend
  • Besichtigungen am CERN: 26./27.2.
  • Rueckfahrt: Über Nacht vom 27.2. zum 28.2.
  • Ankunft in Dresden am Vormittag des 28.2.

Die Anmeldung ist auch bis zum 1.12.2023 geöffnet. Insgesamt sind 48 Plätze zu vergeben.

Mitglied im Prüfungsausschuss für BSI gesucht

Aufgrund des Rücktritts eines studentischen Mitglieds wird ein Platz im Prüfungsausschuss Bahnsystemingenieurwesen frei. Wir suchen deshalb eine:n Nachfolger:in, der/die auf der FSR-Sitzung am 6. November entsendet werden soll. Wenn du Interesse daran hast, studentische Interessen bei diversen Prüfungsangelegenheiten zu vertreten, schreibe dich einfach hier im OPAL-Kurs ein. Bei Fragen zur Arbeit im Prüfungsausschuss kannst du dich gerne per Mail an die aktuellen Mitglieder oder uns beim FSR wenden.

Special Problems in Traffic Flow Science and Logistic not suspended!

The module Special Problems in Traffic Flow Science and Logistic resp. Aktuelle Aspekte der Optimierung von Verkehrs- und Logistikprozessen (a.o. Module No. VI-VW-688 / VW-TEc-MA-VIW 129) can take place this semester.

At the beginning of the semester, the modules “Verfahren der Verkehrsökologie / Methods of Transport Ecology” and “Special Problems in Traffic Flow Science and Logistic / Aktuelle Aspekte der Optimierung von Verkehrs- und Logistikprozessen” should be suspended. The suspension of the “Verfahren der Verkehrsökologie / Methods of Transport Ecology” due to illness will be implemented as planned.

The student representatives of the Faculty Council and the StuKo have successfully prevented the suspension of the module, inter alia elective module in the specialization SYS-BÖV. We are very happy that this lecture could be preserved and the reduction of the offer of elective modules could be stopped.

Thus, we would like to recommend all interested students to take advantage of the offer and attend the module (in german), which provides news from research and development in the field of transport and logistics, and to keep an eye on the associated OPAL course of the professorship.

Workshopangebot “Lern- und Arbeitstechniken” für Verkehrswissenschaften

Welche Lerntechnik ist für mich geeignet? Wie kann ich konzentriert und effizient die Aufgaben meines Studiums bewältigen? Der Workshop “Lern- und Arbeitstechniken” der von unserer Fakultät organisiert wird, beantwortet dir die Frage, welcher Lerntyp du bist und zeigt dir, wie du effektive Lerntechniken für dein Studium nutzen kannst.

Der Workshop dauert 90 Minuten und findet am Donnerstag, 26.10.2023, 09:20–10:50 Uhr im POT/351 statt und ist insbesondere für alle Erstis empfohlen.

Voträge des StuRa zu BAföG und Studienfinanzierung

Am 17.10. und 19.10. veranstaltet das Referat Soziales des StuRa Vorträge zu BAföG und Studienfinanzierung für Erstis und alle weiteren mit Fragen zur Studienfinanzierung.

Themen sind unter anderem: Wer bekommt eigentlich BAföG? Und wenn ja, wie viel und wie lange? Kann ich mich auch für ein Stipendium bewerben? Was gibt es für alternative Möglichkeiten für die Studienfinanzierung, wenn BAföG nicht in Frage kommt?

Eingeladen sind alle Erstis und späteren Semester, bei kurzen Vorträgen mehr über BAföG, Stipendium und alternative Studienfinanzierung zu erfahren. Vielleicht liegt auch für euch ein Schatz beim BAföG-Amt?!

Participation in committees

The next semester is starting and a few changes in student representation go along with it. Both, replacements for existing committees and a say in the appointment of a new professorship, are looked for. Participation in committees is a good way to get actively involved in faculty decisions and to strive for the best for the studentship.

For a professorship to be filled in the field of train safety engineering, 2 student representatives are sought to take part in an appointment committee. Female applications are explicitly welcome. To enroll simply follow the link.
